Jakarta (ANTARA) – Lagu “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” dibawakan grup musik punk rock Amerika Serikat Green Day dalam album bertajuk “Nimrod” yang dirilis pada 1997.

Lagu itu ditulis oleh vokalis Green Day Billie Joe Armstrong berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi tentang perpisahan. Penggalan lirik lagu itu mengungkapkan penerimaan pahit tentang perpisahan agar bisa terus maju dan tumbuh dewasa.

“Good Riddance” menjadi single tersukses Green Day setelah “Basket Case” dari album “Dookie” rilisan 1994. Lagu itu juga ditulis ketika Green Day sedang merekam “Dookie”, namun, saat itu mereka belum terpikir akan memasukkan “Good Riddance” ke dalam album manapun.
