Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream Review

The first CC Cream I got interested into was Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream. I saw the advertisement video, Min Hyorin looks stunning there, as well as JYJ 😀 I really wanted to got myself one after seeing that video and finally I got one from BNTNews (^0^)/

Ingredients:
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Phenyl Trimethicone, Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), Ethylexyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide (Cl 77947), Cyclohexasiloxane, Glycerin, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Niacinamide, Methylpropanediol, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Sodium Chloride, Beeswax, Sambucus Nigra Flower Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Centella Asiatica Extract, Prunus Serrulata Flower Extract, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Rosa Hybrid Flower Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Salvia Hispanica Seed Oil, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Acacia Seyal Gum Extract, Squalane, Sorbitan Isostearate, Pentylene Glycol, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Tribehenin, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethiconol, Aluminium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Polyester-1, Silica Dymethyl Silylate, Triethoxycaprylysilane, Ethylhexyglycerin, Adenosine, Glyceryl Caprylate, Butylene Glycol, Ethylexyl Palmitate, Ceramide 3, Retinol, Linoleic Acid, Tocopherol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dilinoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide, Cholesterol, Propylene Glycol, Sucrose Palmitate, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Oleic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Sterols, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hexylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance (Parfum), Iron Oxides (Cl 77492), Mica (Cl 77019), Iron Oxides (Cl 77491), Iron Oxides (Cl 77499).

The packaging is simple. Dominated with white colour and black cap but somehow still attractive to me. Maybe because of the “Pure Aura” words that are sparkling. 😀

It comes in pump type which is better than jar packaging. But sometimes it’s still difficult for me to control the amount that is pumped out so I just pump it slowly until I get the amount I want.

This CC Cream comes in white liquid. Some of you maybe surprised of this fact but don’t be afraid, that’s because of CC Cream has color adjusting formula. See that tiny gray beads in the CC Cream? When it contacts with skin, it is supposed to self-adjust to our skin colour.

The texture of the CC Cream is not too thick nor too watery. It’s easy to blend. In the left photo, I just started blending it. Then after a few moments, the white colour started to adjust with my skin colour (as you can see on the right photo).

And the finish is dewy as I’ve expected from the name: luminous. The dewy is not too much, it’s perfect to show your glowy healthy skin. ^^

Let’s move to the important part: coverage.

(just click to enlarge if you feel it’s not clear enough 🙂 )

This CC Cream provides very sheer coverage. It helps to cover redness on my face but still the redness can be seen. As for blemishes or acne scars, it doesn’t help at all. But it helps to awaken my dull face. 🙂

It gives very minimum coverage on redness and acne scars.

For people who needs medium coverage like me, using this CC Cream as base is a good option. With this CC Cream as base and BB Cream on top of it, makes my
face looks more flawless and dewy ^^

What I like:
 dewy finish
 easy to blend
 stays all day long
 feels light on skin
 subtle floral scent

What I dislike:
 sheer coverage

Actually I am still a bit confused with the concept of this CC Cream. I was hoping that it will be better than BB Cream in terms of coverage, skin care, etc but in the end I can’t use this alone and still need BB Cream. That’s why I give it only 3,5 stars.
But for people who already have good skin without having to hide any imperfection, this CC Cream is a great choice to look dewy and bright like Korean star.

  1. Thanks for reviewing this one !!

Maybe, if you try before the CC Cream, a base, like the etude house choux base in Mint to conceal redness, and on top of it you apply the CC Cream, I guess it would look as good, dewy and flawless as if you had just applied BB Cream. Maybe, you can try like that 😉
I'm still waiting for my order to arrive so I can try this, but if you decide to experiment like this, please let us know 😉

  2. This CC cream is quite sheer so if you're going for the bare look, I'd say it works pretty well. Otherwise, stay with BB cream if you're looking for something with more coverage.

Have you noticed that it's white but once you remove it, it's a tannish in color? I swatched some on my hand the other day and when I removed it with a cotton pad, it looked like I had just wiped off BB cream or foundation. Interesting!

You've got tons of great reviews on here!

  3. i really aiming for a cc cream ~ and so far i think CC cream from Hera and Tonymoly are the best … but i know about the little coverage thingy .. so must apply bb cream again for a better coverage … hemmmm

thank's for another nice review ~ it's making me more interested with this product ~

  4. Oh, thank you for review. I thought it would be good for my skin, but unfortunately I've got combined skin type and my nose gets oily very fast( That's the main problem!( Even with all the Korean matte stuff: Skinfood peach serum, Innisfree transparent powder, etc. Now I'm searching for light CC cream with some matte effect.
    Thank you for your post!
