Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation No.52 Review

It’s been a long time I haven’t used or buy foundation again. Simply because I think when I put on foundation, it just like i was wearing a mask 😐 So I am using BB cream to replace foundation and happy with it. But now after I thinking about it, sometimes I’m not satisfied with the coverage of BB cream. Most of BB cream has light to medium coverage. And sometimes I need better than that if I want to go to party or other important occassion. So I was ending up buying Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation when I went to Sogo Emporium Mall one and half month ago, hoping that it would give me the result that I want. So how is it? Does it satisfied me? Read more to find out. 🙂

This is the first time I tried Bourjois products. Their counter at Sogo or Centro always attract me but I’m too lazy to take a closer look at it. But finally I made my way to their counter and the BA suggested me to try Healthy Mix Serum gel foundation. It’s Rp 235.000 for 30ml. A little bit pricey but yeahh I will try it.

Healthy Mix Serum foundation comes in a glass bottle and pump type so it will be less messy. Actually I don’t think it’s a gel type foundation. Isn’t gel supposed to be elastic or something like that? ._. I think the texture is liquid type.

I apply it sometimes using Etude House Baby Doll sponge and sometimes just using finger. It blends easily and gives a dewy look. The coverage is light to medium. I try to apply one or two more layer to area where the redness shown up but still you can still see the redness, but not too obvious. So you will need to use concealer again on top of the foundation if you want more coverage.

I like the scent. It’s a nice scent and will disappear after few moment you applied it. What I don’t like about the foundation is if you have dry patches on your face, it will look obvious 😐 (you can click the pic above and see the right side pic). I have combination skin and sometimes my skin is dry on area where there is acne. Maybe it’s because of the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask that I use to heal acne but I’m still not sure about it.

And also this foundation makes me break out :(. After two days of using it for the first time, I realised there are two big pimples appeared on my left cheek and under my lips :(. I
still don’t believe it’s because of the foundation because despite of the dry patches that is obvious, I like how my face looks dewy with it. So after my pimples have gone (what left is the scar 🙁 ), I tried to use it again for three days. And the same thing happened! This time I had several small acnes in my left cheek. Huaa.. So sad.. Seems like this foundation is not suitable for me so it’s better to back to my Lioele Triple Solution BB Cream for daily use.

What I like:

small slim packaging
nice scent
dewy look
What I dislike:
makes me break out 🙁
makes dry patches on my face obvious if you look it from nearby
quite pricey for drugstore brand
Rating: 3 out of 5.

So what’s your favorite foundation? Please share with me in the comment box below because I’m in search of good coverage foundation. Thanx for reading ^^
