Face Shop K-Most Look Competition

About two months ago, I heard news that Face Shop was having a make up competition. I forgot how exactly I knew about it at first but Shella from Polish Wonderland kept sharing the news on Facebook and telling us to join it.
I was interested with the competition, because of the prize and the theme. But I’m not confident with my make up skill so I asked Via whether she want to join or not. If she said yes, we would go for partner make-over category with me as the model. Hahaha.. So I will just sit and Via will do the makeup. But unfortunately, our schedule didn’t match so she said maybe she won’t join the competition. I was sad at that time and still in doubt should I join or not.
But finally at the end of October which was near the deadline, I convinced myself to do the makeup. There are two themes for personal make-over: girly and Kpop look. Since I love Kpop and Kpop look, why don’t I just do it as usual then submit the photo? Nothing to lose, right? That’s how I convinced myself at that time.

After that, I felt ease, means that at least I have tried, chosen or not is not a problem. I remembered Shella said that the announcement will be on 15 or 16 November but I didn’t get any news on that date so I think: “Ya uda lah, mau diapain lagi.”
On Monday 17 when I was working, suddenly I got a phone call from unknown number. Turned out that the phone call was from Face Shop, saying that I chosen as a finalist and need to attend the technical meeting on Friday, one day before the competition. OMG! I was so happy and thinking how could I get to Gandaria City on Friday evening. The traffic must be so bad, you know lah Jakarta. From Kalideres to Kebayoran Lama, it’s quite far.

I decided to go to the technical meeting since I didn’t know anything about the final. From Kalideres I used taxi until Green Garden, then from Green Garden I took busway. The bad news was it started to rain when I stepped out of the taxi. -___-” So it’s raining along my way from Green Garden to Kebayoran Lama and the traffic was worst than usual because of rain and I had to walked from Halte Kebayoran Lama to Gandaria City in that rainy day. When I arrived at Gandaria City, I think that I look like ‘gembel’. My shoes were all wet, my leg, my hair, and half of my body also got wet. -__-” A big sigh for that day.

From the technical meeting, I could meet other finalists, both from personal and partner category. There are 6 others finalist including Shella that came to technical meeting. I knew that Ce Bebe and Ce Hanny also are finalists but they didn’t come. I can see that they all look pretty and their makeup look good, only me look like gembel -__-. Confident dropped again. Hahaha.. Not so long after I arrived, the technical meeting started from introduction one by one then to the rules for the next day final. So we have to do our makeup only in 30 minutes and all using Face Shop products. We could bring our own Face Shop products and they also would provide us with their products. We took a look of their products and after seeing that, I feel panicked. Why? Because it’s so messy and of course it will be better to use our own products that we have already used to use. I went home with uneasy mind for the next day competition. (-_-メ)

The next day we had to arrive there at 8am for GR (Gladi Resik). It was basically to tell us how to walk around the stage later and the place where we will do our makeup. Total of personal makeover finalists are 8 people, Ce Bebe came at that day. 😀 Then, at around 2pm the competition was started from personal makeover first. We did our makeup on stage, being watched by jury and visitors of the mall, only in 30 minutes. Before it’s started, I felt so nervous and my hands was so cold. But after started to do the makeup, all the fears were gone. All I thought about was just I have to finish my makeup in 30 minutes. I didn’t care anymore about whoever watched it. Lol.

Thank God the products that Face Shop provided for us were different from the last night they showed us, they’re not messy and in a good condition. Each 4 of us sit in one table means there are two tables and the makeup item provided for two tables, so 4 of us had to use the products alternately. I was such in a rush to do the makeup, the most important part for me is lining the eye. So I did the face, brow and eye shadow make up as quick as possible then focus on eyeliner. After quite satisfied with the line, I finished up other part and fixed some area that were still a bit messy. Thankfully I could finish the makeup in time and after that we should walk near the jury so they could see our makeup more clearly. By the way, one of the jury is Mr. Son Dae Sik: MUA from Korea. Can you imagine how nervous I was when I stood near him to show my makeup? Hahaha.. >.< After that, all the burden were gone. We took some group photos and watched partner makeover. There are 12 or 13 finalists, including Sheilla but too bad we couldn't see the details from afar. Not so long after the partner makeover and some stage performances, finally they would announce the winner. Started from the 3rd winner that is Ce Bebe, 2nd winner is Fransisca, then 3rd winner and 2nd winner of partner makeover. After hearing the third winner and second winner name, I started to get deg2an.. Because it means if I am not the first winner, I won't win anything at all. And I don't have any confidence to be the first winner, simply because my makeup was a big mess that day -___-". But suddenly the MC shouted out my name as the first winner. I was like OMG.. Is it really me? I can't believe it >.< I was so happy and still very happy at the moment I'm writing this. It's the first time I join makeup competition and I won. What a great experience I had! Congratulations for all the winner and thank you Lord for giving me such great opportunity to learn and get what I have been dreaming about: TRIP TO KOREA. :') OMG.. What a long post, huh? So sorry if you bored reading it. Hahaha.. I just want to share the story with you. Still don't know when will I go to Korea, me and Mirtha are still discussing it with Face Shop, hopefully I can go there on April.
